Pioneer something. Working CD player and aux in. Sounds better than stock. Wired up real easy. Also got my wheels ballanced. Best $30 I’ve spent in a while, no more vibration.

Having AUX in is the best. Sure most newer cars come with it (which is nice in rentals) but cars that are just old enough to not have AUX in but too new to have a tape deck are the worst sometimes! CD player in my Miata didn’t work upon purchase and no way to add AUX (affordably) so aftermarket was the way to go. However, I wanted to keep the OEM look so I rigged together a 4-channel amp with an adapter to a 3.5mm cable and BOOM, Aux input to a stock system! My radio is now a glorified clock.

Ford never really does things the right way.

Helps that I had the amp and all of the wiring just laying around. So it was actually easier than removing and installing a radio anyways lol.

I might do something similar. I have a BT capable radio now but it’s a pain sometimes. I pulled the trucks antenna when the new radio went in and haven’t looked back. I like the idea of a radio block off plate and a hidden Aux port.

Yeah I thought about something like that but I kinda like having the clock there still. Since it matches the gauge backlighting, it works for me. But yeah next best option to me definitely would be a blank plate. I hate flashy radios with neon glowing colors and weird buttons.
